NPS Pharmaceuticals have announced that its partner GlaxoSmithKline have decided to prematurely stop a mid-stage study of PTH agent Ronacaleret in post-menopausal women with osteoporosis due to an observed lack of efficacy.

Theravance/GSK have announced positive results from a Phase II study of GSK961081 for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The successful achievement of proof-of-concept in the MABA Phase 2 clinical study triggers a milestone payment of $10 million from GSK.
