Wyeth and Progenics have received marketing approval for Relistor (methylnaltrexone bromide) subcutaneous injection in the EU for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation in advanced illness patients who are receiving palliative care when response to usual laxative therapy has not been sufficient.

Results from a pivotal phase 3 trial of Relistor (methylnaltrexone bromide) subcutaneous injection have been publsihed in the in the May 29, 2008 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.
